EvoArm  1.0 - Robotic Arm Kit Includes Arduino Raspberry Pi


Designed and manufactured in Mountain View, California, the EvoArm robotic arm kit will give you the best deep dive into robotics beginning from low level electronics to high level programming.

Once built,  the arm will be accessible and programmable from your phone, and you can teach it to do things like play the piano, draw on a whiteboard, solve a "real" Towers of Hanoi" problem and whatever else you can imagine! 


You can also program the arm using python or C++ and access the onboard camera to learn and program computer vision activities like face recognition, so it will know when to greet you and you only!  If you want to go even further, the raspberry pi is pre-configured with ROS (Robot Operating System) which is used by practically all modern robotics companies for managing  and controlling their robots. Hint: This means that if you have multiple EvoArms, you could control them together in harmony, or one arm could send control commands to another.


The kit comes with build-along lessons  of varying detail, so you can choose to build at your own pace.


By the end of the build, you will:

  • Have a basic understanding of programming an Arduino and connecting various sensors and motors together

  • Knowledge of Raspberry-Pi and how to use it with an Arduino

  • An intuitive understanding of electricity and current

  • Knowledge of basic electrical components like breadboards,  LEDs, servo motors and PWM signaling

  • An introduction to 3D Printing and 3D Design

Previous programming experience will help, but is not required.


Equipment Required

You will need a Mac, Windows or Linux computer with sufficient free disk space, and administrative rights to install Python, Arduino IDE and other necessary utilities. If you have a newer Mac or Windows laptop with only USB-C ports, you must have a USB-C to USB-female adapter so you can connect the Arduino to your laptop.
