Genesis Track - Build an AI Quadruped Robot Dog with Advanced Robotics Lab

Evodyne's Advanced Robotics Program

- Self-Paced Program with Unlimited Live Support

- All robots and kit hardware are included in the cost and will belong individually to the student. Kits will be dispatched upon completion of registration.

- Students are welcome to work on their robots during office hours any Saturday from 2:30 - 5pm with an instructor present.

- Instructional content for learning robotics and building the provided robots will be made available immediately upon registration. The student will have a very clear pathway to following the instructions, and will need to clear small quizzes and tests along the way to ensure concepts are retained and building the robot successfully is guaranteed.

- Evodyne's Advanced Robotics Program Certification will be granted and dispatched upon successful completion at each level.

Do you already have experience with robotics and coding? This is the ideal project for you to apply all your existing skills and go to the next level. In this course you will build EvoDog, an advanced  AI-enabled quadruped robot dog, completely from scratch using Arduino Nano, Raspberry Pi, Camera, and many other advanced components, and then program and teach it to walk, run and do tricks on 4 legs just like a dog. When complete, use EvoDog as a pet around your house!

- In Part 1 you will build the robot from ground up while understanding the principles of mechanical engineering, motion control, kinematics, programming, and use the trigonometry you learned in high school to program synchronized leg motion.

-In Part 2 you will make it AI-enabled, WiFi-connected, and learn how to program it to do all kinds of tricks.

- In Part 3 you will go through the Advanced Robotics Lab, where you will gain expertise in the latest AI, deep learning, computer vision programming techniques.

By the end of this course,  you will have learnt:

  • Deep dive into kinematics - synchronized motion control of large number of motors and joints
  • How to use real animals' behavior and structure to make better robots
  • Python
  • ROS - Robot Operating System
  • Linux
  • OpenCV - Computer Vision
  • Raspberry Pi, Arduino
  • Networking
  • Power Management
  • Mechatronics
  • High power robot motors and joints
  • Each student will receive brand-new hardware and non-shared equipment.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of coding. Comfortable using a computer. Student will need to have a computer with admin rights during this session.

Requirements

  • The student must have his/her own Mac Or Windows laptop with sufficient free disk space, and administrative rights to install the Arduino IDE, python, AI toolkits and other necessary utilities.
  • Chromebook will not work
  • A USB-C to USB adapter if your laptop contains only the new USB-C ports
  • Philips / Cross-head screwdriver
