Spring Break Robotics Program 2022

Like all our other programs, this program will be run both in-person at 881 Castro St, Mountain View,  and via Zoom.



Learn and build the EvoArm robotic arm completely from scratch with Arduino and Raspberry Pi! You can take home the robot if you choose Attendance Type In-person/Take Robot home. If you choose Attendance Type In-person you can buy the robot later at $100 ($299.99 retail price).


By the end of session, each student will:

  • Have a thorough understanding of programming an Arduino and connecting various sensors and motors together

  • An intuitive understanding of electricity and current

  • Knowledge of basic electrical components like resistors, capacitors, potentiometers, LEDs, how to use a multimeter, servo motors and PWM signaling

  • Introduction to 3D Printing and 3D Design

  • Learn some of the real-world applications of the geometry they learn at school!

  • Each student will have brand-new hardware and non-shared equipment.



Upon arrival, each attendee will receive a box containing more than fifty components that will be used to build their own robot arm. When the course is over, students are expected to take their box home for continued enjoyment and learning.



None. Previous programming experience will help, but is *not* required.


What To Bring

Each student must bring his/her own Mac Or Windows laptop with sufficient free disk space, and administrative rights to install the Arduino IDE and other necessary utilities.


For Attending From Home?

Besides a computer, each student should have internet access and the zoom app and be able to download required tools and utilities. Everything else will be provided in the mailed kit.


Social Distancing Policy

Cognizant of the situation, we are taking the utmost care to ensure a maximally safe setup. ​The session is designed for individual learning and not group activity. 

  • A mask is mandatory at all times with nose and mouth securely covered

  • Gloves, hand sanitizer, lysol wipes will be provided on every desk

  • Desks and chairs will be completely wiped down between sessions

  • No more than 10 students per session

  • The same desk will be reassigned to the same student on consecutive days

  • Extra cross-ventilation forced air through back to front of building to ensure constant fresh air

  • Distance Learning

    Kits are mailed to remote attendees several days in advance. If you are in driving distance, you are welcome to pick up the kit in person from 881 Castro St, Mountain View, CA.
